We are the basic research arm for the Department of Pathology at Scott & White Healthcare and the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.
Our team is guided by the principle that drugs should be non-toxic to patients. We are committed to developing effective heat-shocked protein-based therapies which will cure various human diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurodegenerative disorders, exercise immunophysiology, obesity and aging.
Currently, our areas of focus are:
- Research and development of anti-cancer drugs
- Understanding the mechanism by which these drugs function, so that more potent drugs can be developed
- Education and training of the local community on recent advances in cancer therapies
