Grants Office

The Grants Office was created to assist Scott & White investigators with the submission of research grants to external funding agencies. Research project analysts provide administrative support by ensuring the timely and accurate submission of grant applications to external entities. They work in partnership with principal investigators and other OSRA staff in order to accomplish this goal. The staff is currently comprised of two research project analysts with experience in the submission requirements of numerous funding agencies (e.g., NIH, CPRIT, DoD, CDC, HRSA, AHRQ, DSHS).

Pre-Award Phase

Project analysts facilitate and coordinate with all entities involved in the grant submission process (ex. investigators, study coordinators, regulatory, research finance, etc.), they develop and plan timetables for the project and they provide required institutional information. Additionally, they conduct funding searches and alert researchers to potential funding opportunities.

Submission Phase

Project analysts confirm and distribute submission confirmation documents to principal investigators, and they collaborate with PI's to provide "Just in Time" information upon request from funding agencies.

Post-Award Phase

Notice of Award (NOA) is sent to the Grants Office and they coordinate with research finance to distribute funds if necessary. They draft subcontracts for project subsites (if applicable) and circulate them to finance and legal for approval. Furthermore, they assist with any other post-award requirements such as progress reporting and grant closeouts.
